The Simulator
WE USE THE SAME PLATFORM THAT AIRLINES USE TO TRAIN PILOTS
Our replica 737 flight deck is built on a 6 degrees of freedom hydraulic motion base flight simulator. It means you will experience up to 30° of roll, pitch or yaw, as well as 900mm of heave, surge and sway. Our hydraulics can give you up to 1g in heave, which means when you hit turbulence or land hard you will know about it! This is the same platform that is used by airlines to train their pilots.
Combined with the visuals, aurals, and the force feedback system via the controls will realistically convince you that you are airborne unlike all fixed based simulators. Best of all it's available to the general public
TOTALLY CUSTOMISED EXPERIENCES TO CREATE UNIQUE CHALLENGES
With the onboard instructor programs, we can set-up a series of challenging scenarios for your experience. Want to experience what it would be like to have an engine failure on the take-off run or just after rotation? Or an explosive decompression en-route with an accompanying emergency descent? Experience aircraft failures in the safety of a simulator
The program also allows us to customise the weather. Fly through some of mother natures worst weather scenarios and feel turbulence like no other simulator can provide in Australia.
Fancy a cross wind landing into your favourite airport? Or windshear on short final approach to land? The possible scenarios are endless
KEY FEATURES
- Flight deck is modelled on the Boeing 737NG-800 type weighing 2.5 tonnes
- The flight deck is built on a Stewart hydraulic base providing 6 degrees of freedom, that comprises six 36"x4" hydraulic rams capable of lifting up to 60 tonnes
- Flight attitudes of up to 30° of roll, pitch, yaw and 900mm heave, surge and sway capble of simulating acceleration, turbulence, weather effects and hard landings!
- The motion is controlled by Galil dedicated motion controller and In-Motion bump stop turnaround and full washout
- Computer system comprises a networked 9 PC based LAN combined
- 7 micro controller sub system for control force feedback to ailerons, elevator and rudder systems as well as trims to elevator and rudder. Control force feedback is digital and fully adjustable by DigiMap
- Visuals are 235° by 40° vertical soon to be upgraded to 3D
- Onboard instructor suite comprising full flight control and fault control as well as flight logging as installed by PM systems. It includes weather scenario settings, turbulence control, flight path analysis and black box data replication for further analysis of your flight
- Visual software by Microsoft Flight Simulator X (FSX) includes more than 24000 airport with terrain height data worldwide
- Aircraft flight characteristics are based on the Boeing 737NG-800 type. Though the software allows us to modify the flight control to alter the characteristics of the aircraft to simulate different engines options and performance
